ABOUT US
In
1994 I spent a short time in Cabo Roig, Costa Blanca, and was
devastated at the plight of and treatment to the street cats
(ferals), also abandoned cats and kittens.
On
my return I conducted a one woman advertising campaign, (writing 200
letters, newspaper reports, radio, etc., without success).
It
was then I decided to apply for a UK based charity to try and obtain
practical help in Spain, and a registered charity was formed, working
with vets and nurses in the Cabo Roig and Torrevieja areas.
In
1998 I resigned as chairperson and applied for a second registered
charity, i.e. Costa Blanca Feral Cat Trust which consists of four
Trustees. We hope
eventually to obtain a clinic to carry out an on-going programme for
the ferals.
The
veterinary surgeons and nurses who carry out this work on our behalf
work on a voluntary basis as do all our trustees. We hope to continue
our work well into the future, funds allowing - all monies donated
will be used directly to help ferals.
You
can read our reports on our visits to Campello from November 1999
onwards, up to and including our transfer to Calpe in November 2003 where we are
now working to reduce the feral and abandoned cat population with
T.N.R. (Trap, Neuter and Return).
